Miami Heat
They don't call it a getaway for anything.
I know stuff "happens" when people get away, seemingly to get away from the daily grind, to catch some rays and get a break. But ethics and morals shouldn't be part of the "getaway" mentality.
If you already think I'm starting to sound prudish, skip to another post; I'm sure you'll find something more "fun" in the roster.
At home, we always come into contact with people whose boundaries are skewed. Whether it's a whistleblower uttering some catcalls or even an angry car honker who uses a vehicle's shield to release profanity's on a total stranger.
Character, ethics, and integrity are everything; at least to me, they are.
To be the same person, no matter the setting, not to bend to the nature of the environment. That backbone is strength.
I call this Miami Heat, not to reference the basketball team, not even the climate :) because it was quite chilly…but the heat of pressure. To feel like we can be laxer and do things that we wouldn't do at home if neighbors and peers we respect are in the vicinity.
Things go down, and it's so important to know when to get up and say, thank you, it's been a night. Even if you leave to the trail of "Rebbitzen, why are you cutting the night short"…because I don't want to wake up tomorrow with a different kind of hangover. One that stems from the inner consciousness.
I'm not a preacher- just someone who likes to find the takeaways, even, especially from getaways. There's always something to learn.
About a new place, society, new personalities, and new parts of yourself that have yet to be tapped into- but you realize that when push comes to shove, a girl can go on a "getaway," yet her character and integrity never entirely "go away."
