ok, so remember how I grogged about the dreaded Mondays?

This is how I get through them. You can substitute the coffee for whatever ready-made brand you prefer. If you’re one of those people who are efficient enough to pre-brew their own coffee and make a milkshake come Monday morning, it’s been nice getting to know ya, I’ll see you on Wednesday.

The Monday Malted

| yields 2 full glasses |

ingredients

  • 1 container Diet J&J Ice coffee, or coffee combo of choice

  • 2 cups milk, can be substituted with milk of choice

  • 1-2 tablespoons creamy almond butter, optional

  • 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder, optional but recommend

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, to bring out the flavor

directions

  1. Divide the J&J carton amongst an ice cube tray and freeze overnight.

  2. Come Monday, pop the frozen cubes into a blender; add the two cups milk and pulse.

  3. Once malted is becoming smooth add the almond butter, cocoa powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Blend until mixture is well incorporated but still thick.
